On Saturday, May 31, former Ida B. Wells High School standout Kaia Young’s current collegiate team the Linfield Wildcats won 9-1 against the Redlands Bulldogs in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship.

The game took place at Inspiration Field at 1:30 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Redlands Bulldogs in the tournament.

The Linfield Wildcats’ next game will take place on Sunday, June 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Inspiration Field.

Freshman Hannah Butterfield led highlights with a top finish in the women’s 400 meters while relays also posted season-best times.
