Former Franklin High School star Kap Laila and the Colorado Mesa Mavericks were defeated 99-66 by the Dallas Baptist Patriots in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 14.

The first tournament matchup between the Mavericks and Patriots tipped off at 4 p.m. at Kenneth E. Burg Center.
