Kyleigh Brown has received All-Big Sky honorable mention following her sophomore season with the Portland State Vikings. This is the first time Brown has been recognized with an all-conference honor.
Brown led her team and ranked third in the Big Sky Conference, averaging 17.1 points per game. She scored in double figures in 29 out of 30 games this season and maintained a streak of 34 consecutive games scoring in double digits from February 2025 to February 2026.
Portland State head coach Karlie Burris commented on Brown’s achievement: “We’re incredibly proud of Kyleigh for earning All-Big Sky honorable mention. Over the course of this season, we’ve seen tremendous growth in her game and in her leadership. Kyleigh has consistently led the way for us offensively, carrying a heavy load and stepping up in big moments when our team has needed it most.
“What makes this honor so special is the work she’s put in behind the scenes. She’s committed herself to improving every day, and it shows in the confidence and impact she brings to the floor. We’re proud of the player and teammate she’s become, and we’re excited to see her continue building on this success moving forward.”
During her second year, Brown took on a leadership role for Portland State. She increased her scoring average by more than seven points compared to her freshman year and played over four additional minutes per game. Her shooting improved across all areas: she posted a .416 field goal percentage, .319 from three-point range, and .881 from the free throw line.
Her free throw percentage led all players in the Big Sky Conference this season and placed her 23rd nationally. Brown contributed to Portland State ranking second in both free throws made (13.9) and attempted (19.3) per game within their conference. She also finished eighth among conference players for both field goal percentage and minutes played per game at 33.3.
Brown was known for performing strongly late in games, averaging 10.6 points on nearly 48 percent shooting during second halves of Big Sky contests this year. Notable moments included hitting a decisive jumper against Weber State on January 1 and scoring most of her points after halftime during a win over Sacramento State on February 7.
As Portland State prepares for Saturday’s first round Big Sky tournament game against Weber State, Brown comes off her tenth game this season with at least 20 points, having scored 22 points with efficient shooting during Monday’s regular-season finale at Weber State—her seventh time shooting at least 50 percent from the field during conference play.
The conference also announced other individual award winners: Taylee Chirrick of Montana State was named Most Valuable Player as well as Defensive Player of the Year; Kyra Gardner from Idaho was Newcomer of the Year; Debora dos Santos from Idaho was Top Reserve; Naomi White from Northern Arizona earned Freshman of the Year; Arthur Moreira from Idaho was named Coach of the Year.
Other members joining Brown as All-Conference Honorable Mention include Neenah George (Northern Colorado), Antoniette Emma-Nnopu (Weber State), Rubi Gray (Sacramento State), and Heather Baymon (Northern Colorado).
