Detectives with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40-year-old man on April 2 in Troutdale, accusing him of disseminating child sexual abuse material. The arrest took place after detectives executed a search warrant in the 700 block of Southwest Halsey Street and detained Josiah Coberley.

Authorities said Coberley was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on 15 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree. Each charge corresponds to an individual recording identified during the investigation, which began after a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

At this stage, investigators do not believe any victims are local. The case remains active and will be submitted to the district attorney’s office for review.

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) program is a national network that includes more than 5,400 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies working together to address internet crimes against children.

Officials remind that charges are only allegations and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. According to Oregon law ORS 133.870, jail booking photos are generally not released unless there is a law enforcement purpose.
