The University of Portland Pilots began their 2026 outdoor track and field season at the Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker Invitational in McMinnville, Oregon. The event took place at Maxwell Field on March 6-7.
KG Monyebodi led the men’s team by winning the 10,000-meter race with a personal best time of 28:58.31. Several teammates also set personal records in the same event. Collin Penuel finished sixth with a time of 29:56.73, and Jacob Hupke was seventh in 29:58.95. Bodie Alderson came in eleventh at 30:19.83, and Matthew Cordova placed twenty-first with a time of 31:08.68.
On the women’s side, Aaliyah Nero competed in sprint events for Portland. She finished twenty-third in the 100 meters with a time of 13.74 seconds and twentieth in the 200 meters with a time of 28.31 seconds.
The Pilots will compete again on March 20-21, splitting athletes between two meets: the OSU PNW Invitational at Whyte Track and Field Center in Corvallis, Oregon, and the Lewis & Clark Opener at Eldon Fix Track in Portland.
