The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 31 that it is investigating an early morning road rage shooting and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 2:44 a.m. from a driver who reported that someone shot into their car near the intersection of Southeast Foster Road and Southeast Richey Road in unincorporated Multnomah County. The victim, a 24-year-old man, said he was driving a silver 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck eastbound on Southeast Foster Road when he passed an SUV described as a blue Ford Expedition. Immediately after passing, someone in the Ford Expedition fired shots at his vehicle.

Deputies responded to the scene and found evidence of gunfire, including bullet impacts to the victim’s pickup and shell casings on the ground. There were three people inside the victim’s vehicle—a 24-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, and a 22-year-old woman—but no one was injured during the incident.

The suspect reportedly drove eastbound on Southeast Foster Road toward Clackamas County immediately after the shooting. Deputies from both Multnomah County and Clackamas County checked nearby areas for suspects. The suspect’s SUV is described as an older dark blue Ford Expedition with a distinct gold-colored bumper, no license plates, and a temporary tag in the bottom left corner of its rear window.

Deputies are asking residents along Southeast Foster Road near Southeast Richey Road or SE 172nd Avenue to check for photos or videos between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on May 31 that may show vehicles matching this description. Anyone with information about the shooter or location of this navy blue Ford Expedition is asked to contact the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (503) 988-0560 or email tips@mcso.us referencing Case Number 26-23665. For urgent non-emergency tips, individuals can call (503) 823-3333.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that all information provided is based on preliminary details available at this stage of the investigation and may change as new facts emerge.
