Nicole Anderson named to WCC all-academic first team; six Pilots receive honorable mention

Portland Pilots guard Nicole Anderson has been named to the West Coast Conference (WCC) All-Academic First Team. Anderson, who is currently pursuing her master’s degree, averaged 8.2 points per game this season and 9.7 points in conference play. She made 56 three-pointers at a 36% shooting rate, tying for the eighth most in a single season by a Pilot and marking the highest total since Maddie Muhlheim in the 2019-20 season. Anderson scored a season-high 20 points against Gonzaga last Saturday.

Six other Portland players—Dyani Ananiev, Tiffany Barbosa, Florence Dallow, Rhyan Mogel, Lainey Spear, and Ella Zimerman—received honorable mention recognition from the WCC.

The Pilots concluded their regular season with a record of 17-13 overall and an 11-7 mark in conference games, securing fifth place in the WCC standings. As the No. 5 seed, they are scheduled to compete in the Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships on Saturday, March 7 at noon. The tournament will run from March 5 to March 10, with all games streamed on ESPN+ and the championship broadcast on ESPN2.

Honorable Mention selections include representatives from Gonzaga, LMU, Oregon State, Pacific, Portland, Saint Mary’s, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle U and Washington State.
