The Portland Pilots women’s basketball team secured a 65-61 victory over the Seattle U Redhawks in their final road game of the season. The win brings the Pilots’ record to 16-12 overall and 10-6 in West Coast Conference play.

Portland’s offense was led by Lainey Spear, who scored 15 points and added eight rebounds and four assists. Spear has now reached double-digit scoring in three consecutive games, leading the team each time. Rhyan Mogel contributed 12 points and four steals, while Nicole Anderson added 10 points. Anderson’s performance included her 52nd three-pointer of the season, tying her for the 13th most made threes in a single season by a Pilot.

All eight available players scored for Portland. The team’s defensive effort was highlighted by forcing 15 steals and causing Seattle U to commit 29 turnovers—both marks are their highest since playing Seattle U earlier this year. Tiffany Barbosa played a key role defensively with five steals, one block, and a career-high eight rebounds.

The game began with Portland falling behind early after an initial scoring run from Seattle U. However, the Pilots responded with strong defense in the second quarter, recording ten steals during that period alone and closing the gap before halftime.

In the third quarter, Florence Dallow provided momentum for Portland with seven points as they took control of the game and entered the final quarter ahead by six points. Despite a late push from Seattle U—including a late three-pointer—the Pilots maintained their lead to secure the win.

Portland scored nearly half of its total points off turnovers (30 out of 65). The team will return home for its last week of regular-season play on Thursday, February 26 against Pepperdine at Chiles Center. Tickets and additional information are available at PortlandPilots.com/Tickets.
