The Portland Pilots track and field teams will participate in the Oregon Twilight on May 8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, followed by the Portland Twilight on May 9 at Lewis & Clark College’s Griswold Stadium.
These events are important opportunities for athletes to compete across a range of sprint and distance races, including the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, 1500-meter, steeplechase, and 5000-meter events. Live results and video coverage will be available through PortlandPilots.com.
Scheduled entries for Friday include Giualiano Scasso in the men’s steeplechase at Oregon Twilight. On Saturday during the Portland Twilight meet, multiple athletes such as Malia Harvey (400m), Giana Atkinson (800m), Gabriel Morrow (800m), Aria Cain (100m/200m), Aaliyah Nero (100m/200m), Elliot Hawley (1500m), Megan Crum (5000m) and others are set to compete in their respective events.
In their previous outing at the Oregon State High Performance meet held at Whyte Track and Field Center, Canyon White achieved a personal record in the men’s open 5000 meters with a time of 14:57.01. Malia-Rose Harvey posted the top time in the women’s 400 meters event with a finish of 56.25 seconds. Aria Cain improved her personal best in the women’s 100 meters to a time of 11.78 seconds—second fastest all-time for the Pilots.
Other notable performances included Kgadi Monyebodi’s personal best of 3:54.35 in the men’s1500 meters; Lindsey Kaines finishing fourth among women with a time of 4:31.90; new personal records from Kate Kabenina, Giana Atkinson, Julia Ferriera in women’s1500 meters; Silas Sneath achieving his best mark of15:51.74in men’s5000 meters; Elliot McIntosh recording9:29.27in steeplechase;and Aaliyah Nero setting her best mark13.15in women’s100 meters.
Looking ahead,the Pilots aim to continue building momentum through these upcoming twilight meets as they prepare for future competitions.
