The Portland Pilots women’s beach volleyball team will travel to Ashland, Oregon, for two nonconference matches at Raider Beach Courts. The Pilots are set to face Simpson University and Southern Oregon University over a two-day stretch.

Portland will begin the weekend against Simpson on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by matches on Saturday versus Southern Oregon at 10 a.m. and a second match against Simpson at noon. No live stats or video streams will be available for these games.

Last week, the Pilots completed the Corban Invitational with a 5-0 sweep of Chaminade after losses to Corban and Sacramento State. During the match against Corban, pairs Sarah Incitti/Tate Mercer and Valerie Bruk/Michela Strati each forced three sets. Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson narrowly lost their second set 26-24 in the top flight. Against Sacramento State, Freytag and Larsson earned Portland’s first point of the season with a straight-set victory (21-9, 21-16). The final dual saw all five Portland pairs secure wins over Chaminade, including come-from-behind efforts by Freytag/Larsson and straight-set victories by the remaining duos.

Head coach Dylan Hamilton is in his third year leading the program, joined by assistant coach Kili Robins for her second season and volunteer assistant Madi Culp. The team returns six players from last season—Michela Strati, Valerie Bruk, Elizabeth Ortiz, Melissa Cormack, Leonie Freytag, and Hannah Debban—and welcomes several newcomers including Greta Kesmodel, Tate Mercer, Sarah Incitti, Lillian Lansing, Jeryn Hildenbrand, Josie Povey, and Nyah Mitchell. Elin Larsson and Jeryn Hildenbrand join from last year’s indoor roster.

The Pilots finished their previous season with a record of 5-17.
