The Portland Pilots are set to face the No. 15 Oregon Ducks in a baseball game scheduled for March 31 at PK Park in Eugene, with first pitch at 5 p.m.

This matchup brings together two strong teams, with the Pilots coming off a successful stretch and the Ducks holding a high national ranking. The contest will be available for viewing on Big Ten Plus, and live stats can be accessed through PortlandPilots.com.

The Pilots have recently enjoyed success, winning three out of four games last week, including victories over Northwestern and Saint Mary’s. Trey Swygart extended his hitting streak to six games while Jonas Salk became the first Pilot this season to reach 20 runs batted in. Carter Gaston earned his fourth win of the year after pitching seven innings against Northwestern.

Currently leading their conference in several pitching categories such as earned run average (ERA), walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP), and strikeout-to-walk ratio, the Pilots also hold national rankings within these metrics. Freshman Will Labonte was recognized as West Coast Conference Co-Freshman of the Week following his performance against Saint Mary’s.

Head coach Geoff Loomis is in his eleventh year guiding Portland’s baseball program and has achieved over 250 career wins with the team. Several returning players received All-West Coast Conference honors last season, including Jonas Salk who was named to the First Team.

The Oregon Ducks enter Tuesday’s game with a record of 23-5 overall and are led by head coach Mark Wasikowski, now in his eighth season. Last year, Portland swept both contests against Oregon for the first time since 2019.
