The Portland Pilots men’s baseball team will face the Seattle U Redhawks in a three-game West Coast Conference series beginning Thursday, April 2, in Bellevue, Wash. The games are scheduled for Thursday at 4 p.m., Friday at 2 p.m., and Saturday at noon at Bannerwood Park.

This matchup is significant as both teams continue their conference campaigns, with the Pilots seeking to extend their recent winning streak. Fans can follow live stats and video coverage via PortlandPilots.com and ESPN+.

The Pilots have won four straight games and ten of their last eleven after a successful series against Saint Mary’s Gaels and a midweek victory over the No. 15 Oregon Ducks. “Portland is now 9-1 in their last 10 games with wins in their last five series,” according to team reports. Key players include Cole Katayama-Stall, who hit two home runs against the Gaels; Brady Bean, who extended his hitting streak to ten games; and Will Labonte, who earned WCC Co-Freshman of the Week honors for his pitching performance.

On the mound, Aaron Louis secured a win against Oregon by pitching four scoreless innings, while Alex Via recorded his sixth save of the year—setting a new record for saves by a Pilot true freshman. The team’s pitching staff currently leads the conference in several categories including ERA (3.10), WHIP (1.26), hits allowed per nine innings (7.62), walks allowed per nine innings (3.73), strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.14), and win-loss percentage (.692). Nationally, they rank seventh in ERA.

Head coach Geoff Loomis is now in his eleventh season with Portland and has accumulated over 250 career wins as skipper—ranking fourth all-time for total wins at Portland—and still holds several program records from his playing days as an alum.

Seattle U enters the series with a record of 6-18 overall and was picked to finish last in this year’s WCC Preseason Poll. Last season’s meeting between these teams saw former Pilot Ryan Rembisz throw the first perfect game in program history.
