The Portland State men’s tennis team defeated Lewis & Clark 7-0 on March 13 at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center, marking their fourth sweep of the season.
The victory brings the Vikings’ overall record to 5-9. The match was played as an exhibition for Lewis & Clark, known as the River Otters.
Portland State secured the doubles point with wins at both No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Edoardo Cravanzola and Maas Schotanus won their match 6-3 at the top spot, while Luke Lu and Luca Prino posted a decisive 6-1 victory at line three.
In singles play, the Vikings continued their dominance by winning all six matches in straight sets. Aarjun Pandit beat Noah Sutin 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Schotanus overcame Kai Wills with a score of 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2. Prino completed a commanding performance over Wade McDermott with a score of 6-0, 6-1 in the third position. Cravanzola defeated Spencer Loucks 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4; Ignacio Ruiz won against Bridger Galyardt with scores of 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5; and Hampus Hagglund closed out the sweep by beating Max Furman 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6.
The Vikings are scheduled to return to action on Sunday against Montana at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
