Portland State men’s tennis will play two home matches at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center this weekend, according to a March 12 announcement. The Vikings, who currently hold a 4-9 overall record and are 1-1 in conference play, will face Lewis & Clark on Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m., followed by a Big Sky Conference match against Montana on Sunday, March 15 at the same time.

The upcoming matches mark Portland State’s return home after their last home appearance resulted in a narrow 4-3 win over Montana State on Feb. 28. Since then, the team traveled to Arizona where they lost matches against Grand Canyon and Northern Arizona. In their most recent outing in Flagstaff, Hampus Hagglund secured the team’s only point with a three-set victory at No. 6 singles, bringing his season singles record to 4-5 and tying for the team lead in singles wins.

Doubles play remains an area of focus for the Vikings as they look to improve their performance this weekend. Freshman pair Ignacio Ruiz and Aarjun Pandit have led the doubles lineup with a team-best record of 5-4 at the No. 2 position.

Historically, Portland State has had success against Lewis & Clark, winning their last fourteen meetings and leading the all-time series 14-2. Against Montana, however, the Vikings trail in the series with four wins to seventeen losses and are seeking their first victory over the Griz since 2021.

Both matches will take place at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center in Beaverton, Oregon. Live scoring links are available for fans wishing to follow along.
