The Portland State men’s tennis team achieved a 7-0 win against Lewis–Clark State College on Saturday at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center in Beaverton, Oregon. The victory brings the Vikings’ season record to 3-6, while the Warriors fall to 4-4.
Portland State began by securing the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, Maas Schotanus and Edoardo Cravanzola defeated Nell Rollin and Leonel Gatti with a score of 7-5. Freshmen Aarjun Pandit and Ignacio Ruiz clinched the doubles point for the Vikings by beating Kevin Lu and Louam Boivin 6-4.
In singles play, the Vikings won all matches. Five players secured straight-set victories. At No. 1 singles, Pandit earned a tiebreaker win. Schotanus extended his unbeaten streak this year to 4-0 with a 6-3, 7-6 result over Boivin. Other singles wins came from Luca Prino at No. 3, Cravanzola at No. 4, Ruiz at No. 5, and Hampus Hägglund at No. 6.
The Vikings are scheduled to begin conference play next weekend against Montana State on Saturday, February 28 at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
