Portland State men’s tennis had a program-high four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to a May 28 announcement. Sophomores Edoardo Cravanzola, Maas Schotanus, and Luke Lu received the honor along with junior Hampus Hagglund.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes must be at least sophomores both academically and athletically, must have competed in at least 75 percent of their team’s matches during the 2026 season, and must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Among Portland State’s honorees, three are Finance majors. Lu earned recognition as a Global Supply Chain Management major after transferring from Seattle University prior to the 2025-26 academic year. The four honorees collectively achieved an average GPA of 3.93.
Schotanus, from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, added this academic honor after being named an Honorable Mention All-Big Sky selection in doubles play. He recorded six singles wins and six doubles wins during the season. Cravanzola posted a singles record of 4-12 and went 6-11 in doubles competition; both he and Lu received their first career CSC Academic honors this year. Lu finished with a singles record of 4-4 and won five out of twelve doubles matches.
Hagglund is classified as a junior on court but is academically a senior. He has maintained a perfect collegiate GPA of 4.0 that began at his previous institution, University of Mount Olive. This season he led Portland State with five singles victories at line six.
