The Portland State Vikings men’s basketball team has secured the Big Sky Conference Regular Season Championship and will now compete in the Big Sky Tournament, taking place from March 7 to 11 at Idaho Central Arena in Boise. The team is seeking its third-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Portland State’s first game in the tournament will be on Sunday during the quarterfinal round, where they will face either Idaho State or Northern Arizona, who play in a first-round matchup on Saturday. The Vikings’ quarterfinal game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time (4:30 p.m. Pacific Time) and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

If Portland State wins their quarterfinal match, they will move on to the semifinals on Tuesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. MT (6 p.m. PT), facing either Montana or Northern Colorado. This semifinal contest will air on ESPNU.

The championship game for the Big Sky Tournament is set for Wednesday, March 11 at 9:30 p.m. MT (8:30 p.m. PT) and can be viewed on ESPN2.

According to Portland State’s championship history, this season marks their third regular season title after previous championships in 2004-05 and 2007-08. Their last two Big Sky Tournament titles came under former head coach Ken Bone in consecutive years—2007-08 and 2008-09—which led to NCAA Tournament appearances.

The Big Sky Conference is expected to announce post-season awards later this week. Additionally, a preview of Portland State’s participation in the tournament will be released Thursday.

The full schedule for the 2026 Big Sky Basketball Championship runs from March 7 through March 11 with all games being played at Idaho Central Arena in Boise.
