Portland women’s tennis secured a 4-3 victory over Portland State on Sunday at the Babette Horenstein Tennis Center in Beaverton, Oregon. This marks the team’s second consecutive win on the road.

The Pilots gained an early advantage by winning the doubles point. Kylie Canubida and Meagan Pearson recorded a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles, while Dariya Radulova and Lexie Flores clinched the point with a 6-4 victory at No. 2.

In singles play, all matches were decided in straight sets. Canubida extended Portland’s lead with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance at No. 6 singles. However, Portland State responded by winning matches at No. 3 and No. 4 to tie the overall score.

Alaia Rubio Perez defeated Scarlett Perkins 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for Portland, and Meagan Pearson secured the team win with a 6-2, 6-4 result against Anjola Ige at No. 5 singles. The Vikings claimed their final point with a win at No. 2 singles.

With this result, Portland improves to a season record of three wins and five losses—all away from home—and has now won two straight road matches.

The Pilots will have an extended break before returning to play Montana on March 15 and Montana State on March 17 at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center in Portland.
