The Portland women’s tennis team defeated the Montana Grizzlies on March 15 at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center, marking their third straight victory. The Pilots improved their season record to 4-5, while the Grizzlies dropped to 2-9.

This win is significant as it extends Portland’s winning streak and builds momentum ahead of upcoming matches. The Pilots took an early lead by securing the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Nadine Arbaizar Martinez and Meagan Pearson won decisively at No. 3 doubles, while Lexie Flores and Dariya Radulova clinched the point at No. 2.

In singles play, Arbaizar Martinez extended Portland’s advantage with a straight sets win at No. 3 singles. Radulova followed with another straight sets victory at No. 2 singles, and Alaia Rubio Perez provided the match-clinching point with a close win at the top spot in the lineup. Pearson added another point for Portland with her performance at No. 6 singles.

Montana managed to secure two points by winning three-set tiebreakers in both the No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches.

Looking ahead, Portland will finish non-league play against Montana State on Tuesday before starting West Coast Conference competition by hosting Santa Clara and San Diego over the weekend.
