Graduates earn 204 degrees, certificates from Western Seminary

About 78.4 percent of the 204 degrees and certificates handed out by Western Seminary in 2017-18 were to students in theology and religious vocations programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Portland conferred 135 master's degrees and 16 certificates in theology and religious vocations programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in theology/theological studies. Data shows the school gave out 62 master's degrees in theology/theological studies, followed by 59 master's degrees in divinity/ministry and 44 master's degrees in marriage and family therapy/counseling.

The seminary enrolled 704 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in 704 programs.
