Portland State University issued the following announcement on Mar. 7.
Friday, March 4 marked the 100-day countdown to PSU’s spring commencement ceremonies. For 2022, Portland State is thrilled to announce a return to in-person festivities.
“I am so excited that thanks to the diligence of our community in safely navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, PSU is finally able to come together in person to commemorate our resilient students and their hard work at this year’s spring commencement ceremony,” said President Stephen Percy. “I am filled with gratitude that we are able to honor our students and their accomplishments at Providence Park and in our own Viking Pavilion in just a few short months. It truly is a time of celebration.”
The College of the Arts will celebrate at Viking Pavilion on Friday, June 10. The open-air Providence Park will host the College of Education and The School of Business on Saturday, June 11, and PSU’s professional schools and the College of Liberal Arts on Sunday, June 12.
Tickets will go on sale in early May and guests will once again be allowed. Details on the number of guests and how to order tickets will be posted as soon as it is available. Information on ordering regalia will be announced via email to purchase items including caps, tassels, stole of gratitude and hoods. Purchases are also available in the University Market in the Smith Memorial Student Union building.
PSU is also working to provide an in-person experience for '20 and '21 graduates and will share more details on those plans in the coming weeks.
