The Bureau of Development Services is proposing to change many of its fees starting July 1, 2023. The Portland City Council approved the fee changes on May 31 for properties within city limits.
Development Services also provides permitting services to properties in some unincorporated areas of Multnomah County. The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners will consider proposed fee changes for those areas on Thursday, June 15.
To submit a permit application under the fees in effect through June 30, 2023, please follow each of these requirements:
- Submit a permit application via Development Hub PDX by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 30, and
- The permit application must meet submittal requirements, and
- You must respond to requests for more information you may receive from Permitting Services, Planning and Zoning, or Life Safety review groups. Delayed responses might mean missing the deadline, and
- Pay intake fees in full before 5 p.m. on Monday, July 31.
If you cannot apply using Development Hub PDX, please schedule an appointment to drop off your permit application in person at the Development Services Center at 1900 SW Fourth Ave. To submit a permit application under the current fees, you must drop off your completed application package no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Please call 503-823-7300 to schedule a time to drop off your permit application and follow each of the requirements below:
- The permit application must meet submittal requirements; and
- You must respond to requests for more information you may receive from Permitting Services, Planning and Zoning, or Life Safety review groups. Delayed responses might mean missing the deadline; and
- If paying intake fees in the Permit Center, intake fees must be paid in full before 4 p.m. on Monday, July 31.
