Three members of the Portland Pilots women’s basketball team have received All-West Coast Conference (WCC) honors, as announced on Tuesday. Dyani Ananiev was named to the All-WCC Second Team, Florence Dallow received honorable mention, and Julia Dalan was selected for the All-Freshman Team.
This marks the second time Ananiev has been recognized by the conference; she previously made the All-WCC Freshman Team in 2023-24. This season, Ananiev led the Pilots in scoring with an average of 11 points per game and contributed 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest. She also led the conference with 2.5 steals per game and totaled 69 steals for the season—half a steal more than any other player in the WCC. Additionally, Ananiev is one of only three players in the conference to record six steals in multiple games this year.
Dallow earned her first career All-WCC honor with an honorable mention selection. She ranked second on her team in scoring at 10.4 points per game, along with averages of 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals. During conference play, Dallow averaged 10.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, placing her tenth among all WCC players in rebounding average during league contests. Earlier this season, Dallow became the only WCC player since at least 2000 to achieve a stat line of at least 15 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and five steals in a single game—a feat accomplished by just 38 NCAA players over that period.
Dalan rounded out Portland’s honorees by making the freshman team after averaging 6.9 points and five rebounds per game while leading both her team and the conference with an average of 3.3 blocks per contest (69 total). Despite playing only 21 games due to injury or other reasons, she finished ninth nationally in total blocks for the season and broke Portland’s freshman record for blocks set during the 1990-91 campaign by Rosemary Adams. Her block total is also noted as being highest among WCC freshmen since Sara Hamson achieved similar numbers during the 2017-18 season.
The Pilots concluded their regular season with a record of 17 wins and 13 losses overall (11-7 in WCC play), securing fifth place in conference standings ahead of postseason competition as they prepare to enter as a No.5 seed at this year’s Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships starting March 7 at noon local time.
The full list of individual awards included Aarika Hughes from LMU as Coach of the Year; Lauren Whittaker from Gonzaga as both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year; Kennedie Shuler from Oregon State as Defensive Player of the Year; Jess Lawson from LMU as Newcomer of the Year; and Jaiden Haile from Gonzaga as Sixth Woman of the Year.
