Responses to emails sent to trees@portlandoregon.gov and voicemail inquiries to 823-TREE(8733) are within three business days.
Due to current heavy permit volumes, Urban Forestry response times are estimated as follows:
1 week for a tree permit decision for applications without a site inspection
6 to 8 weeks for tree permit decision for applications requiring an inspection
If you would like to check the status of your permit application please follow the instructions below:
Go to the Portland Maps Permit/Case Search website at https://www.portlandmaps.com/advanced/?action=permits
Type in the address and hit "Submit"
Click on the applicable permit/case number
The permit status is listed under "Status"
A "status" that indicates "Application" means that the permit is still in the queue to be inspected.
