Public Policy & Regulation Group Leader Rich Gold spoke with Law360 discussing the substantial to-do list that Congress faces when it returns to Washington after Election Day. Among those priorities is the National Defense Authorization Act for 2023, an omnibus bill passed by the House in July, which can potentially see negotiations to add additional non-defense issues to the bill. Mr. Gold believes that adding more things onto a large spending bill could carry risks.
"I can see Republicans being very sensitive to — and in this case, Senate Republicans, because my guess is most House Republicans will oppose the omnibus — to loading the thing up," he said.
